"The essence of chastity is not the suppression of lust, but the total orientation of one's life towards a goal" [Dietrich Bonhoeffer Letters and Papers from Prison]
chas·ti·ty )

I did some looking up today, out of curiosity. Above is some of what I found. Chastity, it seems, has conflicting meanings, or at least several interpretations. Personally, the phrase I thought fit the best was 'the term remains applicable to persons in all states, single or married, clerical or lay, and has implications beyond sexual temperance.' Chastity is at once not as simple as some may believe, yet straightforward and achievable by everyone.

[Private to friends]

As I'm sure we will all be very busy at Thanksgiving, I'm going to my retreat on the 28th and I invite you all. It will be peaceful there and I would love to be surrounded by friends while giving thanks.

I am planning on staying there for about a week, and so it's open to any of you for just as long! You are very welcome to bring friends. I usually host up to a maximum of 50 people, but if no one minds sharing rooms or making a bed of a couch or cot, then I can accommodate up to 75 people.

If anyone would like private quarters, I'll do my best to make it work, depending on who will be going.

OOC: This means Angels, Virtues, and anyone else Chas is on friendly terms with.

[Public Post]

This week was very productive. It was a little cold, but it felt good to breathe the fresh air, and then to get all warmed up through outside activities. A few people have left, but we still have the weekend, and of course, more guests are welcome.

Famine! I named them. Moss, Green, and Lush. Not the most inventive names, I know, but they just......fit!

Next retreat is coming up on the 19th, lasting until the 23rd. Those unable to attend the full amount of time are welcome to come up for the weekend. It doesn't have the same effect, but it can still be very useful. It's peaceful there.

I feel as though I'm forgetting something.

Kindness....are you okay?

Famine! Thank you so much! I love them, I really really do. They are so cute! And somehow soothing. It was so thoughtful of you to send me such a wonderful gift. And such a good idea! I can take care of them.

You know, I was just about convinced I might want someone else close by me, but now I think someone else could use it more than me. It's an excellent idea, Charity, and I think it should be used for Kindness. I'm just fine. I don't like to think of anyone out on their own. I'm sure she'd be less trouble, anyway.

Also, I have lots of planning to do. Colder weather means slight adjustments in the activities and supplies on the retreat! I'm far too busy for trouble.

[Locked from all denizens of Hell]

You know, she just might mean it.

If someone said they wanted to see your heart charred beside a culinary disaster, what would you do about it? I'm not worried about it, but I think that one of the people she keeps talking about me to might get the wrong idea. I'm not about to let anything happen to me because of a Sin! It's so silly. She seems to mistake kindness for something else. I can't remember if all Sins are this touchy, or if it has something to do with how cranky she is. Or maybe it's sugar deprivation.

Is there anything going on that I should know about? Anything I could do? I think I may have missed a whole lot something while I was gone. I'm sure someone would tell me if they needed me, but then I want to make sure there's nothing I should already know about and am not doing.

Lust, are you feeling any better? I hope you are! It's not your fault that you're.........you know. So, feel okay.

I SOLVED A PROBLEM!

Every time I leave, I forget to ask anyone to water my plants and when I come back some are sick and sometimes a couple are......well, dead. In fact, this last time, more than a couple were. Most were. I often forget to water them when I'm home, too. But! I got one of those nifty glass things that water the plant for you when it needs it (for my one live plant, poor thing) and I got some fake leaves and flowers to fill the other pots! Now my apartment is pretty and I won't have to worry about watering them! They look pretty real.

Also, yes, I'm back! That last retreat was a long one. It was worth it though, and fun.....except for the day one man stripped and went swimming in the pond. That threw some people off-balance, though everyone was really good about moving on from that! Well....most people were. There was some shouting. But it all ended well!

I'm glad to be back home!
